Day 37

Well, today is day 37 of my pregnancy. nothing much is really going on, just thought i would post. yesterday i spent most of the day with audrey, shopping around and cleaning out emma and davids rooms. davids bunny came back so that was good, he would have been really upset had it not. Tom and michelle are adopting! that is really exciting news, in just a couple weeks a baby girl will be born and they will get to take her home! my mom is in omaha now with my dad, i think they are glad to see each other again. mary is thinking of moving up to talkeetna, alaska, near denali, to live out of her car and work up there. i think she has some friends up there... emma got her braces on, and she getting a little better with her speech, she was really struggling the first day, and she still talks different. im just going to school as usual, i have like 10 weeks and 2 days left. im counting down. im very ready to get outa there. i think since i found out we are having a baby, my mind has not been on school, and so its making school feel very long. and we are doing the same stuff all the time, just doing facials, and waxing. i feel like they require too many hours, 600 is a lot, for something not too complicated. well, i will hopefully have something more exciting later!

I'm Pregnant!

Since it's mostly all family that checks my blog, I think I can share this news, because you already probably heard it. We found out on July 20th. So just barely, although it seems like a lot longer ago. We are very excited. as we should be! I think the due date is March 30th, and i am in week 5. (the baby is not 5 weeks, they count like 2 weeks before you are pregnant as part of the pregnancy.) SO, anyways, not too much else we know about that. i havnt been to the doctor or anything, still waiting for him to call me back, although i will try again monday. I will update this as we get more news, and all of that, like what sex the baby is. Dan is really hoping for a boy, so he is assured the Jacobson name lives on (there are just girls so far on his side), but he would be happy with boy or girl. Same with me, i would be happy with a boy or girl, although girls are much funner to dress. so we'll see! i think its starting to sink in. we officially tried 12 months, and in month 12 i got pregnant. so its like i have thought so much about it, but now that its here its like surreal. but exciting.
Here are some pictures of a sunset here a few days ago after a storm. we have great sunsets!!

Sunday Afternoon

SO today we have just been hanging out. i cleaned up the house a little this morning, went to church, had a good time. its nice to be in a ward where i know most of the people. there is this couple with a 2 year old and a 3 month old, and her husband plays the organ, so i have sat behind her the past couple weeks cause she needs help sometimes. today i got to hold their 3 month old during sacrament, thats was fun. he was a pretty good baby, tired, but still very cute and pretty good. then went to class, and then after church had missionary correlation, and then fed the missionaries (luckily i had prepared dinner before church, cause correlation ran over late), so we came home and all i had to do was cook the food. i made fried rice , so all i had to do was stir fry it. it was good. then we had some rice crispies... we had the missionaries over for dinner so that was good. now we are just relaxing, finishing up some laundry and that. well, this week no plans too exciting . audrey comes home wednesday with emma i think. and other than that , just school. everyday....well thats it for today!

tribute

I thought today was blogworthy. it has been offially ONE year since we closed on our house and moved in. july 7, 2005. today was a significant day too, my first real client, and my first day on the floor as a practicing Aesthetician. i am going to get little caesars breadsticks with my tip. haha i almost wrote "with me tip", but i corrected it. kinda funny though. Later! ps marey the kids are working on paintings for toms work. on "safety". dave's is river rafting safty (life jackets), i kinda helped him a lot on that topic cause i thought it would be cool to paint, and emmas was all her one idea, a horse, and a girl or gule as she says on a horse who wears a helmet. Well, im gona go!

Got Three Dollars in My Pocket.

So today i took my last test for basic test out !!! yesterday i did my "test out" practical test where mrs. daniels watched me , alyssa, and tamra test out of basics, by doing a basic facial , eyebrow tweezing (one hair), eyebrow waxing (mock), and makeup. i got 94%!!! i was happy with that. i was so nervous to be watched, sanitation is the biggest deal, and timing, she said "you have 45 minutes to do the basic facial including cleanse, massage, mask and moisturize" or something like that really vague. i thought she was going to stop us after each separate phase like "you have 15 minutes to drape the client, remove eye and lip makeup, cleanse, remove and tone". then "you have 15 minutes to steam, massage, remove and tone". then "you have 15 minutes to apply the mask, remove , tone and moisturize and dispose of all materials preparatory to the hair removal and makeup portion of the test". thats what i expected, all i got was "you have 45 minutes to do the basic facial". and i didnt have a clock in front of me. i was a big nervous. but i took a deep breath and tried to stay focused by not looking at anybody or anything, just giving all attention to the facial. and i think i did a good job. so anyways i think it took me around 40 minutes, 5 minutes left or so, but i think thats pretty dang good.
so then today we had out written test out. it covered the whole book , and i didnt even study, and guess what? i got a 96%!! out of 50 questions i only missed 2! so thats alright with me. so then they put me on "the books". which means im on the appointment book for clients. i had a walk in today, my FIRST real client. a Euro. (european or machine facial, we use machines during the facial like the steamer, ect. the basic facial uses no machines ). so i was a little nervous. it was a man named Neil. he was from india i think. it was sort of different to give a man a facial because you cant go up and out like you normall would in your movements, they have to go int he direction of the hair growth which is in and down. but i got a TIP too!! $3!!!so thats exciting!! its nice to bring home some money. and now i take my lunch whenever i want. i am on my own for the most part.. wow huh? well. im gona go! audrey told me today she was leaving town tomarrow. we are gona lap swim and then go over there and hopefully finish up those paintings the kids have been working on!
oh ps yesterday i got my legs finished waxing, the thighs. oh i love it! my legs are so smooth! i love having no hair, they are just smooth! okay. thats enough! hopefully i will have some pictures to post!
