its a great day at artistic beauty college!

here are a couple pictures from when mary and mom came in for facials, mary got a back facial, mom a european facial. it was so fun to have someone i know come in!! moms went well, my parafin mask was not heated up so we had to wait for that to heat up. but other than that , good. alyssa gave marys back facial, she loves doing those, and the rest of us dont really, because the beds are too short, so it hurts your back. i know your supposed to have some sort of stance while you do it, but i just dont like them. so we went over there tonight, i made a little pizza before i went over, and then found out they had put in a nice roast and potatoes and all that! man! thats okay though. i dont really want any meat at all. im feeling good, have been for a couple weeks now. its nice, i dont feel nauseous anymore. just tired, and dont want meat. but its good. i will be 12 weeks a week from saturday. so a little over a week. im almost there! anyways , so we went over to audreys tonight, the little girls of hers are so wild. they are so funny though, keep things exciting! we leave first thing in the morning for salt lake city! til sunday. so im excited to miss school! i havnt missed school since june 13. thats gotta be a record for me. if i didnt have to pay for days i missed it would have been substantially higher i think. i think i have 4 or 5 weeks left of school. then i am done!! anyways, i'll post when i get back , or up there if i have time, but i think i will be very busy!

We all went up to Tempe Town Lake today, for our labor day picnic! We had Candy and her baby Tye, Audrey , Dave , Emma, Audrey's new foster girls (for a couple days, i think til wed or thursday), Daisy (downs), and her little (but taller) sister LeAnna, and then Me and Dan. We brought Potatoe Salad, Bakes Beans, Macaroni salad...and we went kayaking, and then they had a kiddie water area. so it was a fun day!

Week 9

Here is the update for week 9! starting today. i have some pictures from audreys birthday and Candys new baby, but they are on audreys camera, and im not sure where that is. so i will try to get them up soon!
How your baby's growing: Your new resident is nearly an inch long — barely the size of a grape — and weighs just a fraction of an ounce, but he's poised for rapid weight gain now that his basic physical structure is in place. He's also starting to look more and more human. His embryonic "tail" is now completely gone and his body parts — including organs, muscles, and nerves — are kicking into gear.

His eyelids are fused shut and won't open until 27 weeks. He has earlobes, and by week's end, the inner workings of his ears will be complete. His upper lip is fully formed, too, and his mouth, nose, and nostrils are more distinct. The tips of his fingers are slightly enlarged where his touch pads are developing. All major joints — his shoulders, elbows, wrists, knees, and ankles — are working, enabling your baby to move his limbs. As for his heart, it has divided into four chambers now, and the valves have started to develop. External sex organs are there, but won't be distinguishable as male or female for another few weeks.

Week 8

How your baby's growing: Your baby is now 5/8 of an inch long, about the size of a kidney bean. She's constantly moving and shifting, although you won't be able to feel these womb wiggles for several weeks yet. Her embryonic tail is disappearing, and her eyelids practically cover her eyes. Still slightly webbed, her fingers and toes are growing longer. Her arms have lengthened, too, and her hands are now flexed at the wrist and meet over her heart. Her knee joints have formed, and her feet may be long enough to meet in front of her body. With her trunk straightening out, her head is more erect. Breathing tubes extend from her throat to the branches of her developing lungs. The nerve cells in her brain are also branching out to connect with one another, forming primitive neural pathways. Though you may be daydreaming about your baby as one gender or another, the external genitals still haven't developed enough to reveal whether you're having a boy or a girl.
sorry, i couldnt get the picture up.

Oh baby!

Here are the first pictures ever taken of the baby. they are not so clear becuse i had to take a picture of the picture, and it was already a little blurry because the doctor zoomed in so we could see better, but that made it a little fuzzy. the baby was 14 mm for this picture, taken at 7 weeks 5 days. now i am 8 weeks 1 day. you can't see it in this picture, but on the screen we could see the heart beat as a flashing light... the baby is the little cluster you see at the botton of that kidney bean shaped sack.

One Fine Day!!!.

SO. today was a great day. and i mean it! it has been a long time since i have had a day THIS good. and i dont mean that like i never have good days, i do. but today was just one of those nearly perfect days. i woke up this morning...and nothin too special yet. so i went to school...that wasnt anything extraordinary either. it all started when i had my first client. antoher student named Jill. so after her facial, she gave me a $10 tip!!! WAHOO! thats a GREAT tip. $2-3 is average. so you see why i was so excited.. then i made $2 more dollars on an eye brow wax, so that was kinda nice. then i had my doctors appointment, my first one ever for pregnancy!!! so they did the regular exam and that, and thats never really my favorite thing, but then after that, they did an ultra sound!!! the first thing the doctor said was "there is the sack, you are defitely pregnant!" wow!! i have a water sack! then he zoomed in, and you could see this little tiny cluster, and that was the baby, it was a little blurry because it was zoomed in, but you could see a little Heart light. WOW! a heart beat!! that means the baby is alive and well! and there is only one;). but it is 14 milimeters long i believe. they said i was 7 weeks 5 days. so i think the internet place i was looking at was about a week ahead of where i am, they calculated from the 1st day of last period, and my doctor calculates from when you actually concieve or something like that.. maybe a week before. anyways, so im almost 8 weeks, on saturday. and then he printed out the picture of the baby, we got 3!! (pictures). i am going to try to get them up here. so then i got home, and it was like Christmas all over again! the Chassis for my stroller came! so i got that all assembled! it looks really cool. then my mom sent me an awesome package!!! some materniy clothes, a baby outfit, and money!!! thank you mom!! and maaret sent me another AWESOME package!! a crib set that is SO CUTE< maaret its PERFECT!!!! i love it!! i love all that i got today!! and maaret sent me that stroller accessories. and the crib set is so awesome, i love all the accessories for it!! and then i got to go to enrichment night with audreys ward, audrey talked on spiritual preparedness, she did awesome. very good message. and they had the funniest dinner, you had to circle things like "rock, dump truck or pipe" and then it was funny to see what you ended up with. some people didnt end up with any plate, no fork ect, it was funny. anyways, we are going to finish the March of the Penguins

Doctors appt...

Hey, i have my first doctors appt tomarrow...whoohoo! i am not sure entirely what to expect. but i hope its cool! i would really like to have an ultra sound or something or hear the heartbeat, but i doubt i will get that... maybe the heartbeat. im 8 weeks. will be 9 weeks on saturday. so thats exciting. things seem to be going well. i've been tired, and its been hard to find food i want... but no throwing up or anything. so im glad about that. tonight we went to cracker barrel with audrey and the kids and her foster daugher Candy and her mom , stepdad and brother. its nice, i like that for the kids menu they have "FOR KIDS OF ALL AGES!" thats the way it oughta be. none of this under 10 stuff. because one portion of kids mac n cheese filled me up just fine! and its like $2. thats nice... with the cornbread. so, and we went to target, and audrey got a bunch of stuff for the baby, and i got some bottles that were on sale. very cool. i love shopping for baby things. so anyways, well i better get going. i've got to throw my laundry in... oh and my friend Tamra learned how to do eyelash extentions, and she gave me some ! she's got to finish them, but they look so real. she actually attaches them to each individual eyelash, so they looks SO natural. just makes you lookk like you have nice long eyelashes. i'll have to take a picture when she finishes them, right now they are just sort of on the corners of my eyes, looks good. Well, catch ya lata!

Sittin on the Dock of a bay.....

so, nothin really exciting has been going on. truly. i feel like right now my life is in a boring sort of rut. and thats why i dont post so much. nothing to post. i'd be wasting your time.i go to school everyday of the week, from 7:30-3:30 im gone , at the same place EVERYDAY mind you.then i come home, take a nap, watch some seinfeld or something, eat dinner, and not too much else. sometimes some missionary stuff. thats fun. but im really excited for when i am done with school, and for when the baby is finally born. we have had some sort of excitment around here, at least something different. candy, audreys new foster daughter, is staying with us. she is really nice, pretty quiet, and is due for a baby boy soon. she really doesnt have anything to do at our house but watch tv, i wish we had a more exciting weekend this weekend, but audreys out of town, and we just dont have much planned. which has been sort of nice, just to relax. i have a test on physiology and anatomy on monday, so i need to study for that. we looked at some model homes today, thats always sort of fun, and dan got a couple little new plants at home depot. took a nice nap today... tomarrow i think i will make potatoe cheese caserole. nothing much has sounded really good, and after i do eat, i have been feeling sort of blah... i wish i could find something that sounded good. but oh well. i took maarets advice today and ate an orange. well, thats about it! hopefully something exciting will happen soon. i mean being pregnant is exciting, im 7 weeks now. but right now i cant feel the baby kick, or anything near like that. im basicaly just tired, and food doesnt sound that good. but other than that, i feel good. no throwing up and all that. Well. i will try to post more okay mare? cya later~

Day 37

Well, today is day 37 of my pregnancy. nothing much is really going on, just thought i would post. yesterday i spent most of the day with audrey, shopping around and cleaning out emma and davids rooms. davids bunny came back so that was good, he would have been really upset had it not. Tom and michelle are adopting! that is really exciting news, in just a couple weeks a baby girl will be born and they will get to take her home! my mom is in omaha now with my dad, i think they are glad to see each other again. mary is thinking of moving up to talkeetna, alaska, near denali, to live out of her car and work up there. i think she has some friends up there... emma got her braces on, and she getting a little better with her speech, she was really struggling the first day, and she still talks different. im just going to school as usual, i have like 10 weeks and 2 days left. im counting down. im very ready to get outa there. i think since i found out we are having a baby, my mind has not been on school, and so its making school feel very long. and we are doing the same stuff all the time, just doing facials, and waxing. i feel like they require too many hours, 600 is a lot, for something not too complicated. well, i will hopefully have something more exciting later!

I'm Pregnant!

Since it's mostly all family that checks my blog, I think I can share this news, because you already probably heard it. We found out on July 20th. So just barely, although it seems like a lot longer ago. We are very excited. as we should be! I think the due date is March 30th, and i am in week 5. (the baby is not 5 weeks, they count like 2 weeks before you are pregnant as part of the pregnancy.) SO, anyways, not too much else we know about that. i havnt been to the doctor or anything, still waiting for him to call me back, although i will try again monday. I will update this as we get more news, and all of that, like what sex the baby is. Dan is really hoping for a boy, so he is assured the Jacobson name lives on (there are just girls so far on his side), but he would be happy with boy or girl. Same with me, i would be happy with a boy or girl, although girls are much funner to dress. so we'll see! i think its starting to sink in. we officially tried 12 months, and in month 12 i got pregnant. so its like i have thought so much about it, but now that its here its like surreal. but exciting.
Here are some pictures of a sunset here a few days ago after a storm. we have great sunsets!!

Sunday Afternoon

SO today we have just been hanging out. i cleaned up the house a little this morning, went to church, had a good time. its nice to be in a ward where i know most of the people. there is this couple with a 2 year old and a 3 month old, and her husband plays the organ, so i have sat behind her the past couple weeks cause she needs help sometimes. today i got to hold their 3 month old during sacrament, thats was fun. he was a pretty good baby, tired, but still very cute and pretty good. then went to class, and then after church had missionary correlation, and then fed the missionaries (luckily i had prepared dinner before church, cause correlation ran over late), so we came home and all i had to do was cook the food. i made fried rice , so all i had to do was stir fry it. it was good. then we had some rice crispies... we had the missionaries over for dinner so that was good. now we are just relaxing, finishing up some laundry and that. well, this week no plans too exciting . audrey comes home wednesday with emma i think. and other than that , just school. everyday....well thats it for today!

tribute

I thought today was blogworthy. it has been offially ONE year since we closed on our house and moved in. july 7, 2005. today was a significant day too, my first real client, and my first day on the floor as a practicing Aesthetician. i am going to get little caesars breadsticks with my tip. haha i almost wrote "with me tip", but i corrected it. kinda funny though. Later! ps marey the kids are working on paintings for toms work. on "safety". dave's is river rafting safty (life jackets), i kinda helped him a lot on that topic cause i thought it would be cool to paint, and emmas was all her one idea, a horse, and a girl or gule as she says on a horse who wears a helmet. Well, im gona go!

Got Three Dollars in My Pocket.

So today i took my last test for basic test out !!! yesterday i did my "test out" practical test where mrs. daniels watched me , alyssa, and tamra test out of basics, by doing a basic facial , eyebrow tweezing (one hair), eyebrow waxing (mock), and makeup. i got 94%!!! i was happy with that. i was so nervous to be watched, sanitation is the biggest deal, and timing, she said "you have 45 minutes to do the basic facial including cleanse, massage, mask and moisturize" or something like that really vague. i thought she was going to stop us after each separate phase like "you have 15 minutes to drape the client, remove eye and lip makeup, cleanse, remove and tone". then "you have 15 minutes to steam, massage, remove and tone". then "you have 15 minutes to apply the mask, remove , tone and moisturize and dispose of all materials preparatory to the hair removal and makeup portion of the test". thats what i expected, all i got was "you have 45 minutes to do the basic facial". and i didnt have a clock in front of me. i was a big nervous. but i took a deep breath and tried to stay focused by not looking at anybody or anything, just giving all attention to the facial. and i think i did a good job. so anyways i think it took me around 40 minutes, 5 minutes left or so, but i think thats pretty dang good.
so then today we had out written test out. it covered the whole book , and i didnt even study, and guess what? i got a 96%!! out of 50 questions i only missed 2! so thats alright with me. so then they put me on "the books". which means im on the appointment book for clients. i had a walk in today, my FIRST real client. a Euro. (european or machine facial, we use machines during the facial like the steamer, ect. the basic facial uses no machines ). so i was a little nervous. it was a man named Neil. he was from india i think. it was sort of different to give a man a facial because you cant go up and out like you normall would in your movements, they have to go int he direction of the hair growth which is in and down. but i got a TIP too!! $3!!!so thats exciting!! its nice to bring home some money. and now i take my lunch whenever i want. i am on my own for the most part.. wow huh? well. im gona go! audrey told me today she was leaving town tomarrow. we are gona lap swim and then go over there and hopefully finish up those paintings the kids have been working on!
oh ps yesterday i got my legs finished waxing, the thighs. oh i love it! my legs are so smooth! i love having no hair, they are just smooth! okay. thats enough! hopefully i will have some pictures to post!
