Day 37
Well, today is day 37 of my pregnancy. nothing much is really going on, just thought i would post. yesterday i spent most of the day with audrey, shopping around and cleaning out emma and davids rooms. davids bunny came back so that was good, he would have been really upset had it not. Tom and michelle are adopting! that is really exciting news, in just a couple weeks a baby girl will be born and they will get to take her home! my mom is in omaha now with my dad, i think they are glad to see each other again. mary is thinking of moving up to talkeetna, alaska, near denali, to live out of her car and work up there. i think she has some friends up there... emma got her braces on, and she getting a little better with her speech, she was really struggling the first day, and she still talks different. im just going to school as usual, i have like 10 weeks and 2 days left. im counting down. im very ready to get outa there. i think since i found out we are having a baby, my mind has not been on school, and so its making school feel very long. and we are doing the same stuff all the time, just doing facials, and waxing. i feel like they require too many hours, 600 is a lot, for something not too complicated. well, i will hopefully have something more exciting later!

I'm Pregnant!

Since it's mostly all family that checks my blog, I think I can share this news, because you already probably heard it. We found out on July 20th. So just barely, although it seems like a lot longer ago. We are very excited. as we should be! I think the due date is March 30th, and i am in week 5. (the baby is not 5 weeks, they count like 2 weeks before you are pregnant as part of the pregnancy.) SO, anyways, not too much else we know about that. i havnt been to the doctor or anything, still waiting for him to call me back, although i will try again monday. I will update this as we get more news, and all of that, like what sex the baby is. Dan is really hoping for a boy, so he is assured the Jacobson name lives on (there are just girls so far on his side), but he would be happy with boy or girl. Same with me, i would be happy with a boy or girl, although girls are much funner to dress. so we'll see! i think its starting to sink in. we officially tried 12 months, and in month 12 i got pregnant. so its like i have thought so much about it, but now that its here its like surreal. but exciting.
Here are some pictures of a sunset here a few days ago after a storm. we have great sunsets!!

Sunday Afternoon
SO today we have just been hanging out. i cleaned up the house a little this morning, went to church, had a good time. its nice to be in a ward where i know most of the people. there is this couple with a 2 year old and a 3 month old, and her husband plays the organ, so i have sat behind her the past couple weeks cause she needs help sometimes. today i got to hold their 3 month old during sacrament, thats was fun. he was a pretty good baby, tired, but still very cute and pretty good. then went to class, and then after church had missionary correlation, and then fed the missionaries (luckily i had prepared dinner before church, cause correlation ran over late), so we came home and all i had to do was cook the food. i made fried rice , so all i had to do was stir fry it. it was good. then we had some rice crispies... we had the missionaries over for dinner so that was good. now we are just relaxing, finishing up some laundry and that. well, this week no plans too exciting . audrey comes home wednesday with emma i think. and other than that , just school. everyday....well thats it for today!

tribute
I thought today was blogworthy. it has been offially ONE year since we closed on our house and moved in. july 7, 2005. today was a significant day too, my first real client, and my first day on the floor as a practicing Aesthetician. i am going to get little caesars breadsticks with my tip. haha i almost wrote "with me tip", but i corrected it. kinda funny though. Later! ps marey the kids are working on paintings for toms work. on "safety". dave's is river rafting safty (life jackets), i kinda helped him a lot on that topic cause i thought it would be cool to paint, and emmas was all her one idea, a horse, and a girl or gule as she says on a horse who wears a helmet. Well, im gona go!
Got Three Dollars in My Pocket.
So today i took my last test for basic test out !!! yesterday i did my "test out" practical test where mrs. daniels watched me , alyssa, and tamra test out of basics, by doing a basic facial , eyebrow tweezing (one hair), eyebrow waxing (mock), and makeup. i got 94%!!! i was happy with that. i was so nervous to be watched, sanitation is the biggest deal, and timing, she said "you have 45 minutes to do the basic facial including cleanse, massage, mask and moisturize" or something like that really vague. i thought she was going to stop us after each separate phase like "you have 15 minutes to drape the client, remove eye and lip makeup, cleanse, remove and tone". then "you have 15 minutes to steam, massage, remove and tone". then "you have 15 minutes to apply the mask, remove , tone and moisturize and dispose of all materials preparatory to the hair removal and makeup portion of the test". thats what i expected, all i got was "you have 45 minutes to do the basic facial". and i didnt have a clock in front of me. i was a big nervous. but i took a deep breath and tried to stay focused by not looking at anybody or anything, just giving all attention to the facial. and i think i did a good job. so anyways i think it took me around 40 minutes, 5 minutes left or so, but i think thats pretty dang good.
so then today we had out written test out. it covered the whole book , and i didnt even study, and guess what? i got a 96%!! out of 50 questions i only missed 2! so thats alright with me. so then they put me on "the books". which means im on the appointment book for clients. i had a walk in today, my FIRST real client. a Euro. (european or machine facial, we use machines during the facial like the steamer, ect. the basic facial uses no machines ). so i was a little nervous. it was a man named Neil. he was from india i think. it was sort of different to give a man a facial because you cant go up and out like you normall would in your movements, they have to go int he direction of the hair growth which is in and down. but i got a TIP too!! $3!!!so thats exciting!! its nice to bring home some money. and now i take my lunch whenever i want. i am on my own for the most part.. wow huh? well. im gona go! audrey told me today she was leaving town tomarrow. we are gona lap swim and then go over there and hopefully finish up those paintings the kids have been working on!
oh ps yesterday i got my legs finished waxing, the thighs. oh i love it! my legs are so smooth! i love having no hair, they are just smooth! okay. thats enough! hopefully i will have some pictures to post!

June in AZ

Well. i've been up to school lately. no pun intended..thats what i've been up to...going up to the valley for school everyday. im in my 6th week. i am testing out of basics next week! this morning we practiced a basic facial on our dolls, then i waxed a girls arm, then went to lunch, then treated tamra with the high frequency , then she treated my face with it, and wow i tell ya wow! it cleaned my face up so much!! before, i felt like my face was very oily, and its been sort of breaking out, and even though i washed my face this morning, it felt dirty, and after that, (high frequency has a sanitizing effect on the skin), it felt so much better! i didnt notice it til later, but i looked in the mirror and my face looked so much better!! and it was dry, it wasnt oily anymore!! what a wonderful machine. and then i gave my vietnameze (sp?) friend a back facial, i am feeling better in all areas of my work. not perfect in any degree yet, but at least more confident. here are some pictures of what we have been up to. we went out to eat friday with Han and her husband , both from vietnam, and allyssa , who is a native from Guam. we ate at Saigon Pho. a vietnamese restaurant. now look, i spelled vietnamese right back there! just now! isnt it wierd how you can remember somethings without thinking about them, but when you try to think of them, they dont come? anyways, enjoy the pictures! i added some pictures of my class, the one with 3, is Tamra, Me, And Allyssa. that is my "basics" class. just 3 of us. then i added some of the group that went to do baptisms for the dead, Jeff, Diana, Kelly (our new member, almost 1 year now), and Me.

Life in the SUn. and MARY!

So today i got WAY sunburned. wow. i didnt even see it comin! that day me and jenny went to the scottsdale resort with aud and the kids we didnt get burned at ALL! hardly any color. so today i didnt slap suncreen on much, a little but not too much. i am a lobster! not good!! and all day i couldnt even see a tan line, i thought i was gona be lucky if i got any color. i got color!! im a red skin now! youch. thats gona hurt. its already hot. i got home and im just beat red..so you get the picture. but we had fun at the water park today. me, mary, david and emma. it was a lot of fun, we went to the one in mesa. for marys layover. i bet thats the most fun anybody has EVER had in a layover. shes gona get to alaska burned up i bet. i bet she got just about as burned as me. she had a better tan to begin with so maybe not so burned.... we'll see. oh ya we got to town SO early. mary flew in at like 6:30 am. we got her around 7. and then we went to wal mart for water and snacks, then to bk for some breakfast , cause it was across the street from the waterpark. and audrey dropped us off. so we had like 2 hours before the park opened. but it was good. we just chilled for a while. it felt good to finally get in some water though!
anyways , i put a couple pictures on that we took today. and then i put one of dan cutting his own grown (and still growing) putting green lawn. special lawn mower and everything. pretty exciting stuff huh. well, school is going well, speaking of school i need to go read and do some work! but its been fun. we've been waxing! which i love! its so gratifying. i love tweezing ingrown hairs. its so satisfying. i had part of my legs waxed yesterday and then my bikini (no bikini's here..just swimsuit) line. didnt get to finish my legs because we ran out of time. ... but it wasnt so bad. i was expecting a lot worse. just stings a little. not a big deal. but ya, i am loving school.. its very interesting, and im learning a lot. i love being in school. i love learning new things everyday. i miss that when im not in school ya know.. well, talk to ya later!

Grass, Funerals and Faces.
So today is the FIRST day we have spotted grass on our lawn. we planted it and watered it , but not enough, so after like 2 or 3 weeks, we started watering it A LOT. and i think its been like one week, we , and when i say we, i mean me, spotted grass. i was the first to spot grass. dan was pretty excited, i think this makes his summer. anyways, so thats always good. now we might have a backyard afterall!
so we are heading to Utah this thursday, first think in the morning, to see grandma Ruby's funeral. She died friday. But it was a good thing, she was ready, and think of all the fun she's having now. She's finished her time on Earth. wow. that would be a wierd, and amazing feeling. to realize you are finished with your Earthly experience.
so school is going well. i have given one facial , to Tamra , another new student. and i have gotten 2. We use Dermalogica products. very top of the line. my face feels GREAT after one of those treatments. i have a test tomarrow, but i dont think it will be too bad. its kinda wierd, everybody in my class cares about school a lot! i forget that once you hit college and people are paying for it, they try hard. being in grade school i was lucky if i had one or two in the class were really cared about school. but its really interesting stuff we learn about the skin. like did you know that chap sticks actually dry your lips out? i know some of you knew this, and you dont use it for that reason, but i checked on my chapstick, which is Natural Ice, and it even says it "TEMPORARILY protects lips". and you should always check your lotions, most of them are comedogenic, which means they cause things like blackheads, whiteheads and breakouts, because they are like a bar of soap, they have waxes or articial things making their shelf life longer. you can use essential oils, like sesame seed oil for lotion and it wont clog your pores. and face soaps like clean and clear, actually cause breakouts. they are like a bar of soap. and you should always use a toner, because when you wash your face, its sometimes feels really dry after, and your skin tells itself to make more sebum (oil, that causes breakouts if too much is there), and then you put on a moisterizer because your skin is dry, and then you have too much moisture and you break out, or get blackheads and the like. anyways interesting stuff huh? and after only one week! oh, and if you do have breakout, dont scrub your face hard, if you scrub hard, you only increase blood flow and make it really red and puffy. VERY soft scrubbing, so as not to increase blood flow.
Well, im gona go! as soon as i find my camera i will take some pictures of maggie and the kids and maaret to post!

Start of a New Day
So this morning has been one of those long mornings, where by 6:13 am you feel like it should be at least 9. it all started when i woke up for no reason at all around 4. i layed in bed for a while trying to go back to sleep, but couldnt...so a little later i got up and read thinking that would get me to sleep. but i ended up just reading for a while until about 5:20 , and then decided maybe i would try my luck running with emily. we have been running lately, but i didnt talk to her about what time this morning so i went over there at 5:45, but she was sick. so i thought . okay, thats okay because i dont know if i really have time for that anyways. so then i saw an older couple from our ward walking and said hi to them, and then ran to safeway to get some bagels (for lunch). and then i came home. and had half a bagel, but im saving room for breakfast. audrey said if i got over to her place early she would have french toast! i got some garden vegtable cream cheese, but i dont really like it that well...im still very uneasy about that. but jenny did you say it was good? anyways. so i start school today. i hope i dont need anything from that folder because i dont have it. i cant find it. its been a couple months since i enrolled, so being as they pushed it back they should not be upset if i lost it right? i dont think theres anything but enrollment things...but today i will find out exactly what an aesthetician does. or what i will do. and its always fun to be in school. you learn something new literally everyday. i loved that about school. i love classes that teach you new and interesting things every single day. Well. its 6:20 now, about time for me to get going and get ready for school. i have to be all "made up" for school everyday. and i think theres no sandals. which stinks in summer... but i cant find my folder so im not sure. but i think i remember them saying that. and my hair and makeup have to be professionally styled and done. i can do them, i think it just means i have to do it everyday. Well. i will post later when i have done my first day!
