So sorry its been a little while since i posted, i really don't have an excuse...anways here are some pictures. we went to Chinapoot (named such because the mountain right above it looks like a china hat, the pointy kind, you will see it in pics), anyways, its an artificial run of sockeye salmon, people plant the eggs up this river, and then they come back to spawn there since they always return to where they are born. however they never actually get to spawn, because sockeye are the only salmon who need a still body of water to spawn, and there is no lake or pond at the top of the river, so they just die. anyways, its also the only place i know of where you can basically catch unlimited fish, you just hold a net out and they swim in, sometimes 3 or more fish in one swoop. tons of fun... anyways i actually had to babysit at the boat while they went to fish, thats another story. It was still pretty either way, and dan had a blast. they go up to this waterfall, where the salmon are swimming upstream, and they just hold down their nets, and scoop up the fish! it was a little tricky because the tide was going out, this river leads to the ocean and we were not far from the ocean, and so i was in charge of making sure the boat did not get banked on the rocks and sand. last year nobody was with the boat and my family got stranded until the next high tide, 12 hrs later! it was really hard too because these tides go up and down about 20 feet and so the river is dry when tide is out, and very full when tide is in. and it goes and comes quickly!!! anyways, here are some pictures, we went to some people in the wards house for 4th of july, they have everything there, they live on a house on the lake, and they have jet ski's, boats, and tons of toys , lots of fun!!
