HAPPY NEW YEAR!

The house before we left for Utah
The house as of new years day!
(for those of you watching time, this might be a medium length post..3 minutes maybe.)
Well my New Years day gift was my letter from Arizona Board of Cosmetology! I PASSED my exam!!! all that work payed off!! i was issued a license! so i am officially and Aesthetician, not just a student or hopeful! im a pro. anyways, we rang in the new year last night at audreys, i took a little nap before midnight but woke back up for the countdown, we watched the ball drop in new york. the kids had their little celebration last night at like 10 or something, they banged pots and pans, and maggie got to bang a cheese grater and a spoon i think..haha. and they had sparkling cider and those party favors that you pull and a "prize" is in it. like a paper crown, or a joke. today we went to the new house to look at its progress, its coming right along! the first floor is in the framing stage, they have all the rooms separtated and all that. it was very exciting to come back from utah and see framing! we took a picture, so i will post it. and we got back from utah yesterday. long morning, we got to bed about midnight, and got up at 4, and left at 4:30 for the airport, then flew out at 6:30, and went to san francisco (it was foggy so we didnt get to see san fran) and then came to phoenix where mary picked us up, we drove by the house, and then went to audreys and had some lunch, went home, took a nap, jinx slept on my lap!! thats unusual to say the least, and then went back over to audreys for the festivus. we forgot our camera in utah, well not IN utah, but we forgot to take it with us to utah, so we dont have any pictures from up there . we did see dans mom , jen, sam , heidi, the girls, his dad, and amos and jeremy and crystal, and had fun. it was cold! but it was fun. we stayed with jen, and his mom was really close so we got to see her more. we all got to go to the temple together saturday morning at the Timpanogos Temple, i had never been to that one so that was cool. and then saturday night i got to see jenny and garry and parker and livi, and i got to feel the littlest McLean. Parker and garry were sick, so me and jenny and livi "weebee" how she calls herself, went to olive garden for dinner, and then hung out at the hotel. livi is so funny!! parker was so cute, he was so sick but he was sweet. and livi was very interested in anything me and jenny were up to. we were bored, so livi suggested "LETS CLAP!" hahaa she is so cute. and she kept giving jenny butterfly kisses , shes so cute. poor parker was just asleep by the chair most the night, he must have really not felt good ... anyways, thats it for now! happy new years!

State Board...CHECK.

whew. i felt like that lifehouse song (i just am listening to it and thought hey thats what i felt like!) where it says "catch your breathe...hit the wall" . thats about where i was after the tests. i woke up at 3:30 this morning, wide awake unable to put my mind back to sleep. i woke up at 12:20 or so and thought it was morning, then again maybe 2, and then at 3:30 but didnt fall back asleep so i got up at 4. and decided since i was so wide awake maybe it was a blessing in disguise since i had made cookies yesterday that took up WAY more time than i planned, and i didnt have time to go thru the whole testing process on my own. and i didnt get to finish reviewing all my material i wanted to. so i studied. and it paid off i think on the written part of the exam. i feel like i did good on that. as for the "practical" aka not how aestheticians will really work, because the "practical" is totally IMPRACTICAL things, i dont know yet. i will not know for sure on both parts of the exam until 3-4 WEEKs. yes, weeks. usually its 1 week, but in my case Christmas had to come and delay them ... really though that seems like a LONG time. so i am just waiting until then and hoping and praying i passed it. audrey bless her soul was my model, and i gotta say i knew it would be this way, and i was right, it would stink to be a model. you have to deal with not being able to talk or do anything or move really, and not getting hot towels because you can't use their sinks, and having a facial (if you can call it that with all the testing and talking and instructions and observing going on), sitting in a chair with no head rest. she was sitting in a chair that was the same one they use for cutting hair.... yeah, crappy. and i had to REALLy wax one of her eyebrows (i purposely didnt get any hair i dont think), and use a hard wax on the upper lip. so i dont think she got the "SPA" treatment she deserves ! i owe her big time though cause i dont know where else i would get a model so accomodating! she had her hair pulled back tight and was very reliable, and that helps when you are stressing about everything else. so anyways, i feel okay about how everything went. one thing, when i was draping the model, i didnt have a huge gown for them like everybody else did... i just had a towel around her shoulders/neck.... so that might be off.. its hard because i did this test on my own... no help. no instructor went over it with me, no classmates were even available to help me go thru the bag and set up and special things they look for... so i was winging it the best i could...lets hope it flies! but im finished at least for a while. i dont have to worry about it. its so nice to get things like this out of the way... theres nothing i can do right now to change the results. and that is actually a relief. its like i can just breathe and relax and stop worrying about this and that, and how hey want this and how they want to see that.... or at least how i THINK they want this or that... i was blessed though. i think i didnt okay. i didnt forget anything that i can think of that i knew about. and so lets hope i didnt just not get taught some things (which very well could happen). but my mind was able to think. and i was able to stay reasonable calm. my cheeks were pretty red toward the end. i was tired, because it was after 10, and i hadnt had anything to eat or drink since before 6:30 am, and i was just so exhausted or stressed, i was just sweating and my face was red, and it was sort of wierd.. i was like short of breathe almost.. ya know that feeling sometimes... then i took the written exam, and that was 110 questions, went well...then i got done, and had to walk to the front of the building (i had to exit the back doors and walk around the building) and called Dan from their phone (my purse was in audreys car, but they wouldnt let me talk to her before they made her leave the testing facility, so i had no choice but i watch my money and phone drive away. i did however have my makeup in my kit i had with me, so i did makeup... i went to a grocery store next door's bathroom (and realy wished i had mywallet) and did my makeup..), so i was waiting at 11:15, i was all ready to go , but dan had just gotten to his 11 appt. so i had to wait until 1:15, which really stunk. but i was blessed, i had prayed that i wouldnt be starving and going crazy because i knew wouldnt have lunch or a snack or drink very soon today, and i was okay until Dan picked me up. and then i got realy thirsty and hungary... but it was a rough morning. just so long and tense. the kind that makes you want to sleep in all day tomarrow. and soak in a hot tub and do nothing! anyways...thats not likely to happen because too much is going on! we delivered some of the cookies had made and then had tithing settlement, and now am just getting ready for beddy... We fly to Utah sunday morning, i think for a week or 6 days or something. anyways, long enough post for you all? Good night!

State Board Here I Come. Ready or not!

So. after many bad dreams since i turned in my state board packet (mostly of not having any supplies and having mary as my model and having her talking the whole time (strictly forbidden) and not having any supplies or instruction for the testing, and using blue cake frosting as her makeup foundation and the red frosting (really bright) as her lipstick... and failing of course, and some other bad dreams along those lines) i Finally got my date. and its sooner than i expected, mostly because i havnt been getting the mail the last few days, everytime i went down there i forgot the key... so anyways, its TUESDAY DEC 19!!! thats only 5 days away. so any of you in casa grande who want to be waxed, i need practice... i bought a brand of wax i havnt used, because i couldnt find the brand i was used to using at school. AND my school doesnt have a hard wax to practice with, and i will have to use one of those at the test, so i need to practice with that. the trick with hard waxes is there is no strip you lay on the wax to pull it off, there is only the wax, it hardens as is cools, so you have to flick up an edge and then use the wax itself to pull it off. anyways, wish me good luck, and if you can , pray for me! im a little nervous since its been 2 months since i graduated and i havnt been doing this everyday. or really any days. there is a 90 minutes written test, and a 2 1/2 hour practical exam , i think. im not sure if the 2 1/2 hours includes the written or if thats a separate time frame.... lets hope it does. they dont allow snacks, and its at 8 oclock in the morning. and if i fail the test i have to pay $140 all over again, and so i really dont want to do that. anyways, wish me luck and if you need waxing call me!

Picture THis!

My baby this week (week 24 by the way) is about 1.5 pounds, and has gained 1/4 lb since last week. my uterus is the size of a soccer ball now, according to babycenter.com. kind cool eh? and they say he may be responding to loud noises now, which i have noticed! the other day when i was vacumming, he was kicking like crazy. and yesterday when i was washing the car we had a nozzle hooked up to the hose so it would be pressured, and it was kinda loud, and he was moving around when i had the hose...funny huh?

ZALES SCAM!

OKay, so i know Zales isnt the only store who does this, there is actually probably a smaller number of stores who DONT do this, but i saw this commercial today and its a scam! they advertise 15% off (Which REALLY, if you run into the store for 15% off you have a problem anyways), but then the small fine print at the bottom says "Origional prices may not reflect an actual sale". HELLO!!! we raised our price to have a "sale". anyways i thought that was so dumb. and then Papa Johns commercial came on, and im really hungary... so me and dan are
ordering that sometimes next week... :)

Bye mom!

The house behind our lot is the same house we are getting.

here are a couple pictures we took before my mom left town yesterday, to remember her by. and i also posted a picture of our new lot! they say 120 days out, which is one day (1!!) after i am due. and i talked to some people who lived in a house from that builder and they said they didnt move their date at all. so we MAY be in earlier than i had thought! i was thinking it would be at least end of april, or may. but 1st of april they are expecting to be done, and we picked out our upgrades/options yesterday. that was exciting, but also a little more expensive than we had thought. you really had to upgrade a lot, and i think since the house is fairly large it was more than i thought. for instance, you had to upgrade the inside doors because they came as FLAT doors. flat like the wall flat! i was really surprised at that. anyways we had fun with my mother while she was here. it went by SO fast though. i cant believe she is already home in alaska. we had our ward Christmas party last night, that was fun. its hard to socialize with people though when everybody is just sitting at a table. then audrey had hers this MORNING at 7:30 am. thats right. a ward Christmas Party at 7:30 in the morning. is that not crazy!? but i gotta hand it to em, they had a great breakfast, and the kids were in a little Christmas play, very cute. they even had real palm leaves covering the stable. and audrey has a new foster baby, hes 18 months, 35 pounds. HUGE. but seems to be a real sweet kid. comes from severe neglect and some abuse it looked like. it was really sad. audrey said they bathed him twice last night, and this morning, because he smelled so bad, like bugs and dirt, and like he hadnt had a bath in a LONG time. poor little guy. they didnt even have any clothes for him because Child Services said when they took him all his clothes were covered in cocroaches and they could only find 1 diaper, and the only food in the house was some cheese crackers... its horrible what happens to little babies at no fault of theirs. but audrey will probbaly have him a while, he's a long term for now i think. anyways, here are some pics.

BOY OH BOY!!!

WOW. can you believe i ACTUALLY know what i am having now? I am having a baby boy. Me and Dan are having a boy!! the first boy in a long time. When i told Jenny (McLean) she told Parker "Cassie is having a baby boy", and i heard his little voice (he's 4) say "Oh Really!" haha he's so cute. Jenny said the other day he saw someone changing their baby boy and said "Mom, I've never seen one of those on a baby!" haha. its definatly time for a boy in both sides of the family. It will be the first on Jacobsons side, and the 3rd boy on Hall's side. So for inventory , here is the cousin's he will have: 3 girls and hopefully one more in the next year on the Jacobsons, 2 boys on the Halls side, and 4 girls, plus jenny's thats on the way, and tom and michelle's girl on the way. and maaret doesnt know yet what hers will be. i am guessing boy. but who knows! i thought i was having a girl. i was definatly wrong on that one! but thats okay, i am happy, they said everything looked perfect. He is so cute too. i cant believe how cute this little baby is, we got some 3D pictures at the ultrasound place, and a DVD, its very cool. and lots of pictures. when they did the 3D ultrasound, i got a little emotional. it was so cool to finally see a face of this little baby coming into the world. to ME! that is still almost too good to be true. it seems like some day i will just wake up from this dream... but anyways, the baby is healthy, 50th %tile, and 1 pound 4 oz. due date is still the same, they said march 30th, my doctor said march 31st, so around there. i am 22 weeks 6 days they said. so i am 23 weeks i guess tomarrow. usually i would be 23 weeks saturday, so i will ask my doctor if i should move that at all... anyways, here are some pictures. enjoy! we sure did!!
okay. well this is frusterating. i have scanned all the pictures on and i cant figure out how to get them on here!!! so i will try later.

Thanksgiving

Dan and the little brooklyn
mom and mary after dinner...naptime!
during thanksgiving dinner!
cooking
mary, maar, mom, audrey, and me.
eating dinner, my belly is definatly bigger eh?
cooking the turkey, mom was helping tom and michelle with the turkey here i think...
Audrey and Michelle, and Maaret cooking on Thanksgiving.

Audrey, Maaret, michelle, me and mary.
little brookly sleeping.
so we got home from our Thanksgiving trip today. it was a lot of fun. Tom and Michelle had just finished their basement, which added tons of room for everybody, and complete with beds! that was nice. it looks very sharp, matches perfectly with the upstairs, (like paint, carpet, ect). Tom and keith did his bathroom, and it was a beautiful tile job. me and dan flew in wednesday morning, and kinda hung out all day just relaxing at their house, they were finishing the last touches before audrey, mom , maaret, maggie, david and emma came. they drove up that morning , so they got in at night. then thursday was thanksgiving, and we had turkey, mashed potatoes, homemade noodles, pink jello salad (cottage cheese), jello with fruit, rolls, stuffing, audreys turkey and cheese and pickle rolls, and pies. cream cheese pies, one with orange extract. but i think next time maybe try orange juice to add the orange..i dont know. it was interesting, good. home made pumpkin pie, although i've never like too many pumpkin things. i like great harvest's pumpkin choc chip bread, and i love the smell of pumpkin spice candles and stuff. but anyways, we had a good time. i think everybody got all they wanted to eat, all weekend! it was great. we also made buttermilk pancakes and waffles. and little brooklyn was such a tiny baby! very adorable. she's starting to smile a lot more i think. she would smile at us and talk to us a lot, shes very vocal. and david and mary went snowboading, and me and mom and emma went to the lehi pool , oh dave was with us then too, and we went swimming around this really fun "lazy" river, but it was actually quite fast! and so that was nice. and we watched some movies, played Scatagories, haha mom and audrey on the first round thought that we just did 10 varieties of the first item. like i think the letter was B, and they were both done in like 30 seconds, and i was thinking , WOW! they are sharp! but they had just done 10 "b" names for "1. A Boys Name". it was fun though, i like playing games. then friday morning audrey had to fly home early, so that stunk. saturday ... we went swimming that day. and they drove home sunday morning, and its a good thing they did, because we flew out this morning (monday) and it had snowed some, and they were supposed to have quite a storm heading in. so that would not have been good to drive home in. well, here are a few pictures of our trip. by the way, i am 22 weeks pregnant , and my baby is around 1 pound. 10.9 inches long, and i have my ultrasound wednesday morning to see our first good pictures of him or her.

Las Vegas

Okay, well first of all, i am sorely disappointed to tell you all that in las vegas our brakes had to replaced, and that we found out the boot ALSO needed replacing, so we couldnt get back to my appt because we had to fix the car before we could drive home. So we fixed it, and then we ended up staying the night because it was getting late, and we were tired, so we left this morning at 4 thinking we would get to my new appt (i was luck y to get) on time, but we missed it. coming into town had more traffic than expected, so i missed the appt by 10 minutes. that really stunk. im learning patience. maybe by 6 months i will know. im 21 weeks now, and i think i may be feeling the baby move a little, its hard to tell, i cant decide if its my mucsles or the baby.... so we'll see. im sure sooner or later i'll figure it out. so my new appt as of now, is nov 29, almost 2 weeks away. so i will be nearly 23 weeks when i get there. we are also thinking of getting an ultra sound done in utah over thanksgiving with everybody at fetal photos or something, we'll see. i think its a girl, and dan had a dream it was girl, but he's still hopeful for a boy. we went to Bodies in Vegas, it was an exhibit that was from Europe, its REAL bodies that have been preserved and they are in different positions like throwing a baseball, ect and they are without their skin so you can see the different organs as they REALLy are, it was SO cool, and who better to go with than my dad? he was able to explain everything so well, it was truly an amazing show. i had NO idea how complex everything was, i mena i thought i did, but seeing it put together and how much is in the body its such a miracle the body works!! almost flawlessly most of the time. wow!!!! i've got to hand it to our maker. wow. so that was very cool, they also had Fetus's at different weeks, that was so cool. i could see something of where my baby had been, actual little babies just like mine. did you know we are only one cell for 1/2 hour after conception? it was the coolest exhibit. it made me really wish i could have made it to our ultra sound to see our own little baby. but some day....anyways, here are some pictures from the trip! we had a good time. i also put some of Jinx's new outfit on. We also celebrated my 21st birthday, and candy's 17th birthday on sun and mon. and Ty has started to roll over!

Some New Pictures

Here are some pictures of the model house , they have decorated it in some African theme, go figure..not my favorite decorating, but you can get the idea. PS if you have not voted yet! you have until next thursday , please mark your vote under the "Poll" post a few posts down. THanks! The first pictures is when you first walk in the front door. and in our model, to the right will be a door , actually 2, one for a spare bedroom and one for a bathroom (we will have to add a tub, it was $2000 for that and we thought it would be cheaper to add one later if we wanted one), then there is one looking back towards the front door, then one of the kitchen, i think im going to try and have cherry cabinets, and then one of the living/dining room- we wont have the built in wall unit, so that will look a little different. Then there are a couple of the master bedroom- i think we will put our exercise equipment there because its a very large room, and then one of the loft, in the model there is a wall, to make it a bedroom upstairs, but we are just taking out that wall and it will be the loft, so imagine the wall gone. so upstairs 3 bed , 2 bath, downstairs, the den (double doors off the family room), the family room, dining , kitchen, formal family/dining room, hobby room/spare bedroom, bathroom. 3 car garage, looks like a 2 car but one is 2 deep... so there ya have it.

One more week....

SO i guess this mystery baby is gona be a mystery for another week! i didnt really want to wait until i was almost 21 weeks to know the sex, but today i had my doctor appt (not the ultrasound) and i told him i was checking the sex tomarrow, and he was like "wait one more week, you could spend that money getting massages or baby clothes!" (because my OB ultrasound is the 16th and i will find out the sex there anyways). and then i thought about it. and he's right. i really dont have an extra $100 to know the sex ONE week earlier. i mean, there IS tons of stuff i could do with that money instead. i had made the appointment when i was very upset it didnt get done monday, so i wasnt thinking clearly, i just wanted to get another appointment. and really, what will change in a week? not too much! i think this is good, then i can go later and not feel like i'm spending way too much on ultra sounds, because to get a 3D4D ultrasound its only $20 more. so i will wait until like Christmas or so. Anyways, sorry for the delay. BUT this means you have more time to vote if you havnt yet!! lets see how many votes we can get! this is exciting because once we know, its not a surprise anymore. its like guessing what your getting for Christmas. we may as well try to enjoy the anticipation!!

Reschedule

okay, we had to reschedule our appointments for the baby. I am going to Peek of You to get a gender check thursday at 5pm, so i will get a video and some pictures, so you have until then to vote on the poll. please vote under the "Poll" post so your comment is with everybody elses when i tally up the scores and have the final votes in. Please have votes in by 5 pm Arizona time thursday.i think thats nov 9th. Anyways then i have my medical ob ultrasound the 16th, we will probably just be driving home from Vegas so i will stop on my way home. thats at 1 oclock. So exciting! i thought it would be today but the place i was going to kept having all these different prices and when i got there today it was gona be like $200 more than i was told, and that was the best they could do. not good enough... so anyways! i will let you all know as soon as i know! i was going to get a 3d picture from Peek of You, but they said they dont do those until 24 weeks because you dont want to see the baby before then, the skin is too thin and they said it looks a little scary...so maybe for Christmas, as our babys first present, they will get a real photo done! haha. SO remember to put in your vote! THe clock is ticking......

Dan thinks we will have a boy, i think a girl...those are our votes.

THe JAZZ

OKay, so last night me and dan went to Jazz game! here in phoenix! they played the suns. and WOn!! yahoo! it was a close game, the jazz started out ahead by like 15 pts then got behind like 15 pts and sort struggled in the middle to keep up, but then came back in the 4th qtr and won! by like 2 or 4 pts or something small like that. so that was fun. got home late. but thats okay, how often do we get to go to a jazz game? actually i've been twice since i met dan, so maybe every other year? anyways, the pregnancy is going well, feeling well and all that, so thats good!
Your baby weighs about 8 1/2 ounces, and he measures 6 inches, head to bottom — about the length of a small zucchini. His arms and legs are in the right proportions to each other and the rest of his body now. His kidneys continue to make urine, and the hair on his scalp is sprouting. If your baby is a girl, she has an astonishing six million eggs in her ovaries.

This is a crucial time for sensory development: Your baby's brain is designating specialized areas for smell, taste, hearing, vision, and touch. While you may think your womb is a quiet place, it's far from it and your baby may be able to hear what's going on now. What's he listening to? The main sounds are blood moving through your vessels, digestive noises from your stomach, and your voice. Some women like to talk directly to their babies, but even if you don't, your baby can still hear you as you talk to others. Research shows that he's learning to distinguish your voice from others and he'll soon show a preference for it. Studies have shown that when a pregnant woman speaks, her baby's heart rate will decrease, indicating relaxation. Let Dad get in on the act too — encourage him to talk to your baby.

Hello November

SO. i guess i will not be able to do daycare. im kinda bummed right now. in fact, that is sort of where i guess i have gotten to by now. this afternoon, i would say i was very upset. after hours and hours of filling out all this paperwork for daycare, filling out their interviews, their forms, history, house plan, buying everything to babyproof my house, cleaning out under my sinks and my drawers of any little items, collecting a bin of toys, and many other things, and spending almost 3 hours with this lady today, which i started around 10 o clock this morning (that doesnt count the time it took to clean out under my sinks ) i spent all morning cleaning my house, making everything so it would pass the inspection, she comes at 1 o clock, and about 3:30 or so, i find out i cannot do daycare unless i do 4 children, FOUR!!! she kept saying the whole time she was here "now if you have a 2 year old....where will they play? what will they be doing at this time, ect, a million questions that makes me require more and more things, i finally said "throw the 2 yr old out. i will only be doing one, Ty, like i have said (about 20 times), and i will just get certified for him. i was gona get certified for up to 4, but that was just for emergencies, if audrey had extra foster kids for a couple days, but i guess i may not choose who or when i watch, apparently they want total control. i have to have a schedule for every age group, and for every minute of the day, and they can just pop in anytime, and if im not on the schedule i guess i would get in trouble. SO. anyways, im sort of bummed because that was going to be so much fun watching ty. i still want to watch him at least like 3 days a week, and hopefully after our buisiness is up more, i can take him more, but right now i have to make some money. so anyways, thats kind of my bad news today. i think i may complain, i mean i have been working with this lady for like 2 months, and i am just now learning this vital information. anyways. other than that, halloween was okay, we went to trunk or treat, saw aud and the kids, that was cool, but it ended at like 7 instead of 8, it was pretty short, and so that kinda stunk. but emma was pocohantas, (sp?) she was really cute, and her new hair do is very cute. and dave was in black thermals. i called him a little black kitten. but i think he was trying to be a ninja, just didnt finish the outfit. he was having fun though. and candy was in a black dress, and ty was a little stocking stuffer. he was so cute! so the kids costumes were fun, next year though i want to have a halloween party or something. not that i really love the holiday, but i love having A holiday. plus we have never really done anything for that, me and dan have never dressed up, and we will have a little baby, and a bigger house for a party , and it would be cool to hand out candy, we have never done that either. so maybe that should be my goal. maybe we could have pumpkin carving and carmeled apples! and play MOnster Mash over loud speakers......hahaha. we'll see. im very excited to be closer to audrey, i wish we were closer to each other now. but it is better than 1000 miles away like most my other siblings. i do miss them. i wish family all lived by each other... but thats life. well , its already november. i will be in vegas for my 21st birthday! at a conference for Asset Protection... and then to tom and michelles for thanksgiving. so a busy month!so anyways, i better get going. this is a long one!!
