torticollis

so i guess abby has a mild case of torticollis, i think thats how its spelled. where she wants to turn her head to the right all the time, so i took her in for some physical therapy today. she did very well !! they said she is a mild case, her head on one side of her forehead sticks out like 8 mm more than the other, so i guess 2 to 3 is normal , 4-8 is like mild or very mild, and 8-15 is mild/moderate, and over 15 is severe, where they would like need a helmet to correct it. so i think as long as i do her excercises it should reshape on its own. it was funny, i love hanging out with physical therapists, i miss james and jody from omaha. they were so cool. but today the lady was Mary, and she was really nice. it was funny, abby doesn't like tummy time, and she asked if andrew did, (he wasn't there but i told her abby had a big brother), and i said "no", and she was like "oh i bet he didn't crawl til what, 10 months?". she was dead on! he crawled maybe 2 wks before he turned 10 mo, and she had him nailed, first he sat up, then would reach for toys, then would rock on his hands, and then crawled. thats EXACTLY how he did it. she said thats because i didn't make him go on his tummy enough to build his back and shoulder muscles, i guess i thought sitting up was good enough. so i am not allowed to let abby lay on her right side like at all.... and lets see, im going to see crystal tomorrow morning, and jani in the afternoon. im excited. and tonight i'm getting andrews pictures done. i have a free 8X10 coupon. yay! the sling is going great too, i love it, and so does abby, and the p.t. said its very good for her if i put her on my right side, because it makes her turn left to see anything. the pt loved the sling, she thought it was so cool. anyways, well, abby is asleep, and andrew is supposed to be asleep...so i might try to take a little nap myself;). out and over. oh one more thing, they said abby was ahead of the game as far as motor skills, when you tip her to the side, she tries to keep her head level, and she tries to suck her toes, which prepares her for sitting i guess, and i guess usually babies like 5-6 mo do that, and shes not even 5 months yet! :) so i was very proud of her. its funny though, she still has the startle reflex that newborns have. she is VERY easily startled. i was told that would fade out pretty soon...so there you have it!
