So today was sort of hopefully the beginning of potty training for andrew! he actually went pee in the toilet! hah! im excited. i hope diapers become a thing of that past for him before long...so any potty training tips would be gladly welcome! also last night was sort of a big night for abby, she went to the bassinet last night. up until now i haven't had the patience or engery to put her in the bassinet because she doesnt fall asleep and stay asleep like andy did... he started out day 2 in his bassinet, and never returned to my bed. which was funny because i was really really anti- child in my bed. still dont want that, but with abby, when i would lay her down she would wake up, and then want her binky about every 60-90 seconds i think because she would start falling asleep, it would fall out, and she would want it back, and it was a vicious cycle. so last night i held her for a while to try and have her be REALLY deep into sleep, and i layed her in her bassinett, and voila! she stayed. from 11-3. then i fed her at 3, and tried to put her back, and we were back at square 1. finally around 5:30 i was so tired and sick of getting UP , DOWN , UP, DOWN...(to giver her the binky, or sometimes she would be okay for like 10 minutes, and then start crying, which was almost worse, because i would fall back asleep and then have to wake up again). so i brought her back til 8:30 when andy woke up. she was sort of a bottomless pit last night too, she nursed on both sides before bed (which is unusual, most of the time she doens't even finish one side off and shes done). then she nursed on both sides again at 3, and then one more time before she finally went to sleep at 5:30, and then she woke up at like 8:30 or something to eat again. andy woke up at 8:30 so i think abby woke up right after that, because i put on cars and gave him a snack kind of hoping to get back to sleep a little, but she was ready to eat, and then i just gave up and got on with my day. which consisted today of laundry, cleaning, and this afternoon a walk with a friend who lives down the road. andy loves to ride in his car he got for his birthday, and i put abby in the snugli and she seems quite happy there. she still sleeps most of the time i would definitely say, but has bouts of awakeness for times here and there thru the day. she seems to be gaining weight well, she is surely fatter than when she was born, her little chicken legs are becoming more soft. andy likes her. when she cries , like today she was fussing in the swing while i was getting andrews lunch to him, and he kept telling me "a abba, out!". (get abby out!). and when she cries, he goes over to her and touches her head, not sure what to do but hoping to help somehow. he likes to hold her and really feels proud of himself when he gets her the binky, which he insists on putting in her mouth himself , (never has worked for him , it takes her a minute to get the binky usually). luckily, he has NEVER tried to suck her binky, or drink her bottles! she doesnt have bottles every day, but when she does, im glad they are safe...even though the first time i offered it to him to see what he thought of the milk...i was wondering if it would still be familiar to him, but he wouldnt try it. haha. its fun too, tonight i was reading books to him before bed, (we are finally getting back into sort of a routine with him, i haven't read books to him much since abby came along), and he is listening to stories really well now. it makes reading books funner for both of us i think , he will listen and we can talk about whats on each page. well. thats about it for me for now. life is good. its really been so fun having the 2 babies around. i love being a mom. definitely lots of work, but i for me, i wouldn't have it any other way. like that song we used to listen to as kids , something like " when i grow up, i want to be a mother, and have a family ...." and something about for a job, for me i'd choose no other... i always loved that song. always wanted to be a mom. for a while i thought it would be cool to be a doctor like my good ol' dad, but then realized (this was during gradeschool for me, during med school for him) that it was VERY time consuming, and i couldn't have both. so i gave up my idea of being a doctor so i could be a mother. its where i've always thought i should be. and luckily i've been blessed with 2 beautiful babies. hopefully more to come. in time... all in good time....well. i think thats enough to think about for one night. i'm out! on ONE more thing. tomorrow im taking andy and abby to get pics taken (thanks maar! she sent me a free coupon), and on sunday abby is ONE MONTH OLD.

Both your kids are so cute! I have a potty training tip for you, Buy the book- How to Potty Train in Less than a Day. I did this on my last 2 and they were potty trained in less than a day! Never once had a accident. Sorry your not getting much sleep....hope that gets beter soon!
Good luck with the potty training! I sure hope your nights get better with Abbi! That is so hard to be tired all day with a toddler!!
I had the same binky problem the first night at home with timothy... finally I decided that if I wanted any sleep at night, he wouldn't get his binky when we was in his bassinet, so i do just what you do and make sure he is really asleep before I lay him down... hopefully you can have more success with her in her bed! Good Luck!
