A Night at The Museum!

"Best Buds"

"this was an artist working live (well both were, the pic above and below). i just loved watching them work. i made me ache. i should be doing this! maybe not THIS, but i know i belong with art. i just love it. and it was so fun to watch the painter, to see how she used undertones, and then to watch her mix different paint colors, and she held the brush at the VERY end of it, so it was painted "loosely". i say that in quoteations because it takes a GREAT amount of skill to pull that off. but it makes it LOOK really easy. she was just doing this study last night, and i watched her as long as i could stand it (haha literally. i get tired kind of easy these days standing..). anyways, for you artists out there reading this, you missed a cool exhibit. and best of all, it was free!
this artist was working with Prisma Color Pencils- the best. im proud to say somewhere i have a set of these. and they are amazing, they are so rich in color, its hard to believe its colored pencil..

They have a really cool kids center in the , i think its called the Church museum of art, or history, i should know this if i'm posting it! its the museum downtown, and its free! they have the cutest kids center though, for those of you in the area with kids looking for something cool and free, and perfect for family home evenings! above dan is helping andrew, they have big puzzles and under the pieces are pictures and you have to guess the story...
andrew liked the Nursery, they have dolls and changing areas and all sorts of baby things. its cute.
on our way back to the car, he was wide awake, (even though it was almost 10 o'clock! he was super good all night), it was just cold so we kind of bundled him, i didnt bring his big coat because it was warmer during the day (not a really warm day, but not super cold)
right after he got out of the shower , i just love his little body.
this video is just the tail end of what i wanted to video. I was doing my hair, and andrew was in here playing with a stereo dans dad gave us, and he was talking to himself. he would ask a question like "dad dud da?" then answer himself "No." he was doing it over and over and over, and then when i got the camera of course he kind of stopped. but i got something, and it was still funny. Anyways, yesterday jen came down and hung out with me and andrew, we did some errands, went to the park (where jen played the whole time with him on the playground, which he LOVED), and then we went to the museum and up to salt lake city, it was a great day. we had a blast.

I like the "best buds" picture. I need a copy of that! Thanks for a great day on Friday. I had a wonderful time with you and Andrew, and the museum that night topped off an already perfect day.
